Pine Island Primitives - Rug Hooking Designs by Sally Kalin

About Us

My Husband Keith, my daughter Hannah and I are blessed to live on our little farm nestled in the rolling hills of southeastern Minnesota. We share the farm with three beautiful horses one wonderful dog named Jack and several great cats.
After 20 years of being a graphic designer in Minneapolis/St. Paul my career changed direction when we
moved to the small town of Pine Island, Minnesota. I had been hooking for a few years and was flattered when people started purchasing my patterns even before I had them for sale! I enthusiastically produced my first catalog in 2001 and the business has boomed since then. Thank you to all who have been such an inspiration to me and who have purchased patterns and taken classes. I am truly blessed and humbled by you all.

More Wool Than You Can Shake a Hook At!

The obsession has taken over! I love it and you will too! The shop is stocked with over 1000 yards of gorgeous hand-dyed and as-is wool. There is a huge variety of wonderful textures. You will also find, patterns, hooks, books, backing and other handy items for hooking, punch needle, penny rugs, proddy and needle felting.

Please call before you come to make sure I am home and not teaching a class. By calling ahead, you get individual attention and free color planning!

Call soon for a visit to the farm. You might even get to meet "Jack the German Wool Hound"!
